Passenger Safety and Satisfaction

At Queenstown Paraflights, your safety is just as important to us as the incredible views and unforgettable flight. While soaring above Lake Wakatipu is a breathtaking adventure, we’re equally committed to ensuring every experience is carried out with the highest level of care and professionalism.

Professionals at the Helm

Our crew is made up of experienced parasailing professionals who are not only passionate about flight but also rigorously trained in safety and emergency procedures. Each member of our team undergoes regular assessments and drills to ensure top-tier performance and passenger care. Whether you're flying solo, tandem, or as a group, you're in skilled hands every step of the way.

Equipment you Can Trust

Our boat - the Red Dragon and parasailing gear are kept to the highest maintenance standards. We use a specialised winch boat designed for smooth lift-offs and gentle landings, with all equipment meeting or exceeding industry safety regulations.

Our operation is certified and regularly audited by Maritime New Zealand.

Boarding with Confidence

Our launch site is conveniently located at the Main Town Pier in Queenstown Bay. The jetty can be busy with foot traffic, we recommend you watch your step, keep children close and follow any signage or staff directions when boarding or disembarking. Weather can make the jetty surfaces slippery, we advise wearing suitable footwear.

We provide a full safety briefing and help you into your harness and gear before take off. Our goal is to ensure you feel confident, secure, and excited before your feet ever leave the ground.

Things to Keep in Mind

Adventure Comes with Some Risk

Parasailing is an adventure activity, and while incidents are extremely rare, it’s important to understand that some risks - such as sudden gusts of wind, water landings, or equipment issues - can’t be entirely eliminated. We take every precaution to manage and minimise these risks.

Weather Conditions Matter

Weather is a key factor in safe parasailing. Flights are subject to change or cancellation if wind speeds, rain, or lake conditions pose a safety concern. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding and always aim to reschedule bookings subject to availability.

Health Considerations

If you have any existing medical conditions, recent injuries, or mobility concerns, we kindly ask that you speak with one of our team members before joining the experience. Your safety and comfort are our top priorities, and we’ll do our best to make sure your experience is suitable and enjoyable. Queenstown Paraflights is suitable for most guests, but if you or someone in your group requires mobility assistance, just let us know - we're here to help.

Summary

By choosing to fly with Queenstown Paraflights, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with parasailing and operating in a dynamic outdoor environment. While we follow strict safety procedures and take every possible precaution to protect your well-being, some risks cannot be completely removed. Your safety and overall experience remain our top priorities, and we're committed to making your time with us as thrilling, safe, and memorable as possible.
